Since Egyptian archaeological structures have not been catalogued so far, the initial reference for the gathering of archaeological data was the "Topographical Bibliography of Ancient Egyptian Hieroglyphic texts, relief and paintings" by B. Porter & R. Moss, the most exhaustive bibliography about ancient Egyptian sites. The research was later extended to publications and excavation reports which were not included in the abovementioned bibliography, and to the existing archaeological plans.

About the 600 tombs excavated from the beginning of the XIX century to date and present in the database, the following data have been reported: the architectural typology, the names and titles of the owner and family members, the inventory number and the number attributed by Porter & Moss, the date, the type of main building material of the structure, the name of the archaeologist who discovered it and the first excavation’s date, a brief description in the form of a file-card, a collection on ancient and modern photographs, the bibliography, notes and news about excavations after the discovery.
