In parallel with the italian experience, by the term “Risk” we indicate the susceptibility of a given monumental structure to the exposure to the occurrence or lasting of degradation processes.

In particular, the relation we refer to, linking the terms “risk”, “vulnerability”, “hazard” and “value”, corresponds to that adopted by UNESCO, that is:

Riski = f (Value, Vulnerability, Hazard)’.

In other words, risk is directly proportional to the monument’s value, to its characteristics of vulnerability and to the hazard of its context.

The model we have obtained can serve as a platform for all future expectations for the layout of the area of Saqqara.

The objective, as we said before, is a sustainable management of the site, allowing an increase of visitors and the achievement of optimal conditions for the preservation of cultural heritage at the same time.
