In the previous phases, the degradation factors to which North Saqqara cultural heritage is subjected were analyzed and identified.

There are therefore four main scenarios, each of which assesses the risk due to:

  • the interaction between the monument (with its inherent characteristics and condition) with the physical context surrounding it;

  • the interaction between the monument’s characteristics and the human presence;

  • the possibility of loss of some landscape components;

  • the possibility of loss of information and communication value.

In order to elaborate such scenarios, it was necessary to homogenize data, standardizing the contributions of the individual risk components in terms of value, vulnerability and hazard in accordance to unified quantitative scales.
